Thanks to your generosity, we donated 75 pairs of new shorts, 50 pairs of new underwear, and several bags of women’s clothing to C.O.M.O. CapCity truly showed up—thank you to everyone who gave!
C.O.M.O. will be closed for two weeks while Jeffrey serves in Mexico. Please pray for Jeffrey and the people he will be helping. Also, remember the men and women who depend on C.O.M.O.’s services during this temporary closure.

This weekend, we had the opportunity to feed breakfast, serve lunch, and feed the soul of 100 residents through fellowship and four powerful talks:
Strive to Live in Truth
Loving Is Better Than Hurting
Seek Christian Fellowship
Love the Samaritan
It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, share the love and hope of Jesus, and encourage the men in their walk with Christ.
We’re also excited to announce that the state, at the direction of KPMI, has officially approved inviting prospective volunteers as guests to Kairos Reunions and Retreats!
This is a great opportunity to experience Kairos Prison Ministry firsthand before committing to serve on a Kairos weekend.
Reunions are held monthly and last approximately two hours, while Retreats are held once each quarter.
If you’ve ever felt God stirring your heart to serve in prison ministry, this is the perfect opportunity to come and see what Kairos is all about.
Come see Mike Dimmerling to fill out an application, and let’s walk together in the mission God is calling us to!
“I was in prison and you came to visit me.” — Matthew 25:36

Women’s Kairos Team Formation Begins
Thank you, Capital City Church, for generously helping fund the Women’s Kairos team! Team formation is now beginning as they prepare for the upcoming Kairos Weekend at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville.
Please join us in praying for the six women from Capital City Church who have answered God’s call to serve:
Dannis Cunningham
Misty Willis
Dedra Thompson
Stephanie Payne
Jessica Siebold
Pray that God will use them to share the love, grace, hope, and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with women who may feel forgotten, broken, or hopeless. Ask the Holy Spirit to go before the team, prepare hearts to receive the Gospel, and remind every resident that she is deeply loved by God and never beyond His redeeming grace.
Please also pray for protection, wisdom, unity, and strength for each team member throughout formation and the Kairos Weekend. May God use this ministry to transform lives for His glory.
“I was in prison and you came to visit me.” — Matthew 25:36 (NIV)
Thank you for partnering with us through your generosity and prayers as we bring the hope of Christ to those who need it most.

CarePortal: Serving Local Families
God recently gave us the opportunity to support two local families through CarePortal.
Removing Barriers for Three Children
A devoted grandmother stepped forward to provide a loving and stable home for her three young grandchildren. She needed help obtaining their birth certificates so they could enroll in childcare, receive medical care, and access other essential services.
Generous members of our community provided the needed funds. Our team delivered the gift card for the birth certificates and had the privilege of praying with the grandmother and for her family.
A Safe Place for a Newborn
A mother of three needed a safe place for her one-month-old baby to sleep but could not afford one. Our community responded by providing a crib frame, mattress, and sheets. We delivered the items and prayed for the family.
Thank you to everyone who gave, delivered, and prayed. Because God’s people came together, important needs were met and two families experienced the love of Christ in a practical way!

Hearts for Heaven Christmas Gift Ministry
Hearts for Heaven is a faith-based ministry that feeds children and shares the Gospel with families and communities throughout Guatemala and Mexico. The ministry also provides children’s Bible materials to more than 100 churches and trains teachers to share God’s Word.
Each year, Hearts for Heaven collects and distributes Christmas gifts while sharing the hope and love of Jesus. This year, its goal is to provide at least 2,500 gift bags and backpacks to children in need. CapCity’s goal is to contribute 75 filled gift bags and backpacks!
How You Can Help
Pick up a Hearts for Heaven gift bag and instruction sheet at the Welcome Center or the Hearts for Heaven table. Fill your bag with the suggested items, then return it to the Welcome Center by Sunday, September 27.
Thank you, CapCity, for helping share the love of Jesus with children and families around the world!

See What God Is Doing Through CapCity!
God continues to work through the generosity, prayers, and willingness to serve of our Capital City Church family. We are grateful for every person who has stepped up to meet a need, give generously, and pray for those we serve.
Here are just a few highlights from this past month:
CarePortal
Through the generosity of people in our community, three children received the birth certificates they needed to access childcare, medical care, and other essential services.
We were also able to help provide a crib, mattress, and sheets so a newborn baby would have a safe place to sleep. Our team was blessed with the opportunity to deliver these items, meet the families, and pray with them.
Sometimes meeting a practical need opens the door to remind someone that they are seen, loved, and not alone.
C.O.M.O.
CapCity showed up!
Together, we donated 75 pairs of new shorts, 50 pairs of new underwear, and several bags of women’s clothing to help C.O.M.O. continue serving people in need.
C.O.M.O. will be closed for two weeks while Jeffrey serves in Mexico. Please pray for Jeffrey and the people he will be serving, as well as those in our community who depend on C.O.M.O.’s services.
Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this possible!
Kairos Prison Ministry
The Women’s Kairos team has begun formation for its upcoming weekend at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville. Thank you, Capital City, for helping support and fund the team!
Please continue praying for the five CapCity women who are preparing to serve and share the love of Christ with the women inside the prison.
We are also excited about new opportunities for people to experience Kairos before committing to a full weekend. Prospective volunteers may now attend Kairos Reunions and Retreats as guests.
Recently, three men had the opportunity to join us and experience Kairos firsthand as we spent time with approximately 100 incarcerated men.
If you feel God may be calling you to prison ministry—or if you simply want to learn more—please see Mike Dimmerling for information and an application.
Hearts for Heaven
We are excited to introduce another ministry connection to our CapCity family!
Tim and Twyla introduced us to Hearts for Heaven, a faith-based ministry that feeds children, equips churches, and shares the Gospel with children, families, and communities in Guatemala and Mexico.
One of their major outreaches is their annual Christmas ministry. This year, the goal is to provide at least 2,500 Christmas gift bags and backpacks to children while sharing the hope and love of Jesus.
We look forward to sharing more about how CapCity can come alongside this ministry and help make Christmas special for these children.
Thank You, CapCity! ❤️
Thank you to everyone who gave, served, donated, delivered, and prayed this month.
Every meal, piece of clothing, crib, donation, prayer, and act of service represents an opportunity to show someone the love of Jesus.
Together, we are meeting practical needs and sharing the Gospel—not only in our own community, but around the world.
Visit the Missions page on our website to read the complete stories, learn more about these ministries, and discover ways you can get involved.
“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18 (NIV)

August 2026 Missions Gallery
Thank You, Capital City! ❤️
We hope you enjoy these pictures as we look back on all that God accomplished through the Missions Ministry during August!
We wish we could share more pictures from the Kairos Men’s Retreat, but because phones and cameras are not permitted inside the prison, we aren’t able to capture many of those special moments. Even though we can’t show you everything God is doing behind those walls, we can tell you that He is moving and lives are being impacted!
Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and willingness to serve. Because of your faithfulness, lives are being impacted in our community and beyond.
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus. We couldn’t do it without you! ❤️
